About Focus Sports
Focus Sports was developed to enhance sport performance and to teach people how to recover from or prevent an injury.
The Proprietor of Focus Sports is Bonnie Luke.
Bonnie has worked extensively in the field of exercise
rehabilitation and personal training. She received
her Bachelor of Physical Education at UBC and went
on to attain many other certifications that include
Post Rehab Specialist, Sports Conditioning Specialist
and Medical Exercise Specialist. She is currently
working on certification as a Medical Exercise Program
Director.
Bonnie (pictured above) is three time Canadian National
Pursuit Champion in track cycling (93, 94, 95). She
is also a medallist in several road and track events,
and a past member of the Canadian National Development
Team (95). She continues to be active in a variety
of sports.
During her competitive years as an elite level cyclist
she suffered from her own injuries, and has seen many
other athletes endure a variety of problems. She understands
what it's like to have to push yourself to reach a
goal and what is needed for mental preparation as
well as physical. On the other end of the scale, after
undergoing extensive spinal re-constructive surgery,
she understands what it's like to have an injury that
debilitates you and prevents you from doing the things
you love to do (and are accustomed to doing without
pain).
Bonnie can provide programs that help prevent injuries
in a fun and effective way, and keep fitness functional.
She has combined her athletic background with other
life experiences to develop a unique understanding
of injury situations.
Bonnie has also worked with numerous athletes ranging
from beginners to the Olympic level, including the
Canadian National Rowing team.
